Series Introduction

Series Overview

Life is an adventure, it has excitement, great experiences, precious moments and many challenges. But there is no better way to live life than that of following our maker’s instructions and ADVENTURE with GOD.  

Each week we will look at the apostle Paul’s life and his adventuring with God, which will relate to a simple truth of following God’s Son Jesus. 

Lead-in Sessions

The theme for each week is introduced with a different drama sketch where two friends meet, the one having just returned from their latest adventure. During the series, the adventurer goes on safari, snorkelling, mountain climbing, journeying across a desert, visits the arctic and ventures into the jungle. He returns dressed in appropriate gear and carrying a suitable souvenir.

Use your creativity to mock-up some kind of an adventurer’s base-camp as a background for the weekly dramas. This might comprise a few chairs, small table, a couple of cardboard box ‘tea chests’ or similar.
The basecamp pictured on the right is a bolt together prop.
However a base camp is put together, items typical of those used by adventurers can be added to create the idea of adventure and exploration. The items in the base-camp might include, rope, supplies boxes, lamp, kettle, rucksack, boots, bucket, chair…  

The two friends discuss the various places explored and the highs and lows of these ventures.  The weekly key theme emerges from the experiences of the adventurer's travels. The Adventurer has varied experiences which include, getting lost, wanting to give up, loneliness and fear.  

Bible Chats         

The Bible chats will cover Paul’s Epic Adventures and each week they will relate to the key phrase or word for the session.

Response Time

This takes place in small groups and is a time when the children are given the opportunity to discuss and reflect on the themed presentations.
